I was born in Jackson Mississippi and attended the University of Mississippi from 1987 to 1990, when I then transferred to Tallahassee to complete my education and be with much of my family who lived in the area. During 1990, I started volunteer work at the Leon County Animal Shelter. In 1995 I became the Leon County Humane Society Liaison and held that title until 1997.

In 1992 I was married. I gave birth to Jacob in 1994, and then to Aaron in 1997. I graduated FSU in 1996 with a Major in Social Science & Economics.

1998 was a big year for me because I started working in Real Estate, and also started Big Dog Rescue. Both of which I enjoy doing immensely.
